Review: Seashore Video Art Course

After a week at the beach, our family was ready to ease back into school very very slowly. I knew that we needed to find our groove again, but I wasn’t ready to jump back into the entire usual routine.

After all, it is May and things are slowing down

I needed something fun. something new. something enjoyable.

That’s when I saw it online. A new video art course perfect for the summer.

{This post contains affiliate links. You can read my full disclosure. In addition, I offered my honest opinion in exchange for this video course because I was eager to use it. Our family has enjoyed the chalk pastel lessons from You are an Artist for years and I am excited to share our latest experience with you.}

I was thrilled that one of my favorite art websites, You Are An Artist, released a Seashore Video Art Course. This 9-lesson video art course was the perfect way to spend our post-vacation re-entry week.

You know what I mean by post-vacation re-entry week, right?

It is that first week at home after a vacation. Everyone must adjust to reality again and mom has about fifteen loads of laundry to do.

Yeah. Re-entry week. We needed something new and fun for our week, so we completed one of the seashore art lessons each morning that week. And it worked.

There were smiles on re-entry week.

Seashore Video Art Course: What do I need?

There isn’t a whole lot you will have to purchase to get started. Other than the chalk pastels, you have everything else you need.

  • White copy paper and/or construction paper
  • Chalk pastels (we love this brand. look for SOFT pastels.)
  • Paper Towels or wet wipes (for hand wiping)
  • Laptop, Ipad, or TV to watch the videos
  • OPTIONAL: Pastel Paper. We decided to use this for one final product for each child. After completing all 9 lessons, each child can redraw their favorite one on the paper meant for pastels.

Ready to begin our Seashore Video Art Chalk Pastel Course.

Our family has a few more lessons and we will finish this set of videos. My kids agree that the Seashore Video Lessons have been their favorite so far.

I have enjoyed them as well and in my opinion, mom should always participate. I have no special drawing or artistic ability but I enjoy these lessons alongside my kids every time.
